Van Ryder is a trendy rooftop spot in Salt Lake City that's perfect for a fun birthday dinner with friends. It offers a variety of delicious food options, from flatbreads to poutine, and an impressive selection of cocktails. The venue has a great vibe and some of the best downtown views, making it a must-visit location. While the food mainly consists of quick bites rather than full meals, the exceptional service and breathtaking view make it worth every penny.
Since its opening, I've been a frequent visitor to this establishment with my friends, and it continues to enchant me. The food, drinks, and service consistently provide a delightful experience. This place has earned a permanent spot in my top 3 favorites across the entire state. It's undeniably an excellent destination for cocktails accompanied by breathtaking views. I enthusiastically recommend this rooftop bar to all. Our recent visit was made even more special by Iris, who welcomed us with genuine warmth and sweetness. We are eagerly looking forward to our next visit. A hidden gem that has become a beloved go-to!

I stayed at Le Méridien hotel and visited their rooftop bar—Van Ryder. it was an incredible experience! The views are outstanding, offering a relaxing atmosphere. We came just to grab some drinks, and everything was perfectly mixed. I had an Old Fashioned, and it tasted great.Definitely a spot to visit for a chill time with great views! Will come back next time I’m in town.

The food was good but overpriced for what it was, they only have apps and snacks. Service was great! She was attentive and friendly. The cocktails however, were not great. We had 5 between us and they were all below average — for the price and expectation they were not good. We might go back, but would definitely just order beer or a bottle.

Super classic, upscale rooftop bar that offers amazing views of the city and mountains. Great service with some well crafted cocktails, including a delicious old fashioned. The atmosphere is swanky but in a relaxed vibe. The bartenders were awesome and they have TVs to not miss that game. The outdoor area is really nice with fireplace seating.

Awesome swanky rooftop bar with views of the mountains east and delta center. Drinks were delicious and food was quite tasty as well. Definitely get reservations it’s always popping.

Great atmosphere. Appetizers were incredible, food was incredible. The food was really slow to get out to us well over an hour and a half but the staff took great care of us.

The views were amazing and the style of seating was unique & conversation inducing. However, I ordered the lobster mac and cheese for dinner & it actually was the worst mac and cheese I’ve ever had. It barely had any cheese, no flavor on the noodles & the lobster was dry. It legit tasted like steamed lobster with no seasoning and boiled noodles with no butter or cheese or anything. For $32, I expected better. The views are amazing & you can see mountains from every angle. The outdoor seating is furnished with heaters and fire pits to keep warm.

The view was spectacular!! We went on an extremely hot day so we chose a table inside, but we did walk outside for photos on the roof. Amazing views from all sides. This is definitely worth stopping by - at least for drinks! The food was great as well. We loved our server, and all the staff was very nice. This is a must stop for great views of the city!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐I had a wonderful experience at Van Ryder! The service was truly top-notch with all team members being incredibly attentive, friendly, and always wearing a smile. The food, while good, consisted mainly of quick bites rather than full meals. However, their cocktails were exceptional! Yes, it's on the pricier side, but the breathtaking view and outstanding service make it worth every penny. I highly recommend Van Ryder, especially for small group gatherings. I would not recommend the poutine.Special shoutout to Mauricio, Alejandro, and Francisco for making our visit extra special with their fantastic service!

Wow! This place is amazing. First of all the view is wonderful. Such an amazing experience eating with that amazing view. Food was delicious, I loved my plate! I had the firecracker, I love the flavors and the place that I chose was recommended by MARIA. Her services was awesome! I definitely recommend you to visit Van Ryder, try the FIRECRACKER and ask for Maria to be your server.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the breathtaking views and fantastic atmosphere at Van Ryder's rooftop bar nestled atop the Le Meridien hotel in the heart of Salt Lake City's lively Downtown area. Perched several stories above the bustling streets of the vibrant West Quarter, this hidden gem offers unparalleled vistas of the majestic mountain skyline that will leave you in awe, whether you visit during the day or at night. My visit to Van Ryder was nothing short of spectacular. The ambiance was sophisticated yet inviting, making it the perfect spot for any occasion. Whether you're unwinding with a craft cocktail after a long day's work, sharing artisanal bites with friends, or indulging in a delicious dessert by the cozy fire pit, Van Ryder truly has something special for everyone. The service was impeccable, the drinks were expertly crafted, and the food was simply divine. I couldn't have asked for a better rooftop bar experience. If you're looking for a place that combines stunning views, delicious offerings, and a welcoming atmosphere, look no further than Van Ryder. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. Five stars all the way!

I recently visited Van Ryder, a charming rooftop bar with a cozy atmosphere. The small yet inviting space is ideal for a night out with friends or a romantic date, and the terrace is perfect for group gatherings. The reservation process was quick and hassle-free, a plus for any night out.Our choice of drinks, the Salted Maple Old Fashioned, was a delightful twist on the classic, and the three-flavor popcorn appetizer provided a unique tasting experience with sweet, salty, and 'sour' varieties, the latter offering a tangy, almost garlicky flavor. For the main course, we opted for the lobster mac and cheese. While tasty, the portion size was modest, with a bit less emphasis on the 'cheese' in mac and cheese. Van Ryder isn't the place for a hearty meal, but more of a lounge for hanging out. It excels in its niche but might leave those seeking a full stomach wanting more.Overall, Van Ryder earns a solid 4 out of 5 stars, offering a distinctive experience in a stylish setting.

Food and drinks were incredible! My favorites were the caramelized onion dip and their whiskey sour (they do it with egg whites). Most importantly the service was second to none! Travis in particular was incredibly kind and attentive. 10/10 would recommend Van Ryder, and be sure you ask for Travis!

Come here for the ambiance & view. The drinks are substandard. Tried the Blood Moon & the orange ameliorated the flavor. The food is subpar & would be imprudent to pay that price for it.The security or manager was very communicative & made the setting more inviting. The bartenders were busy which caused for miniscule things to happen such as forgetting straws in drinks.

After going here for the first time I’m convinced enough to want to return. The service, food and cocktails were amazing all paired with a fantastic view.

Van Ryder offers a breathtaking sunset view and a fantastic atmosphere for hanging out with friends. The food, especially the tuna tartare and calamari, is exceptional, and the cocktails are delicious. However, one significant drawback is the excessively loud music, making it difficult to hear anyone else. Despite our request for a solution, the server's response was dismissive. Therefore, I can only give it 4 stars. I urge management to consider lowering the volume, as it detracts from an otherwise enjoyable experience.

Nice rooftop bar. Lots of seating options. It is hot outside in the Summer during the day. Some sunbrellas would really make a difference. Drinks are good around $15 for cocktails. Great views of the city.

We were here without much expectation we really just came for the ambiance. We read the reviews and were prepared for the disappointment. Let me just say they didn’t steer us wrong. The food is mediocre and the drinks followed. We really did just come for the rooftop sexy experience. This place has so much potential, I understand Utah is not known for its food scene, but somebody has to be the change. Our waiter was good and the greeter was nice. However trying to book a reservation it said they were booked. We took a chance and were able to get seats right away. Maybe that’s done to build hype. Either way we loved the views. Our table was a bit awkward as the table was way higher than the chairs that were SO LOW!We left and went to Sol Agave where the food is good and the drinks are fantastic. I don’t know if I would go back to Van Ryder only for drinks maybe wine….you can’t mess up wine right?

We originally went to Van Ryder. The views are incredible, but we decided to dine downstairs at Adelaides.Wow! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟A Delightful Surprise: Adelaide at Le MéridienI must admit, hotel restaurants often leave me feeling underwhelmed. But Adelaide is a refreshing exception! Stepping into the restaurant is like being transported to the French Quarter of New Orleans, perfectly complementing the West Quarter's jazz theme. Chef Jackie Siao, a culinary star who formerly graced prestigious 5 Star JW Marriott and Ritz-Carlton resorts, is a fantastic addition to downtown Salt Lake City. She even stopped by our table, and her enthusiasm for food was contagious!Must-Try Dishes:Appetizers:Fried Oysters with Caviar: The clear winner of the night.Shrimp with Peppers in Cream Sauce: A decadent and flavorful choice.Mains:Shrimp with white cheddar grits: Melt-in-your-mouth deliciousness.Arugula & FennelCitrus supreme, granny smith apple, toasted almond, chevre, craisin, white balsamic vinaigrette. (Chèvre Goat Cheese. The spanish triple creme goat brie compliments the Salad.)Dinner: Fully Prime Filet Mignonjalapeño bourbon butter, charred leeks, fricassee of mushrooms, demi. (PRO TIP: Add lump Crab meat and a balsalmic reduction glaze!)Desserts:Bread Pudding: This might sound like a basic choice, but Chef Jackie's version was a revelation. Butter Croissants are the secret incredient to this “slap yo mama” dessert that took it to another level.Overall Impression:Adelaide is a fantastic addition to Salt Lake City's dining scene. The atmosphere is lively, the food is beautifully presented and bursting with flavor, and should be highly considered for one's dining choice!UpdateIf you previously read my review,Property General Manager Scott Cochran reached out and invited us back for an excellent experience. One individual had tainted the entire operation.
