Access rules for each Heathrow lounge is explained and lounges are also marked by alliance and whether entry is possible by payment, via the Priority Pass or DragonPass annual lounge access programs or directly by American Express Platinum cards.

We will look at each Heathrow airport terminal in reverse order:
- LHR Terminal 5 Lounges – opened in 2008, used by British Airways.
- LHR Terminal 4 Lounges – opened in 1986, used by Skyteam alliance airlines.
- LHR Terminal 3 Lounges – mainly used by Oneworld airlines plus Emirates/Virgin Atlantic.

Plaza Premium Lounge Terminal 5
[PAID][PRIORITY PASS][DRAGONPASS][AMEX PLATINUM] – In late 2017 the independent Plaza Premium group opened a 465m² lounge at Heathrow Terminal 5 which can seat 200 people. It features a cafe-bar area, floor-to-ceiling windows with good views, individual pod-style seats and newspapers/magazines. A shower is available at extra charge (£20).
This lounge can be very busy and some of the seating is now a bit worn and could probably do with a refurbishment.
Located on level 2 departures next to gate A7. Access is available to paying guests (from £44), Priority Pass and DragonPass members and American Express Platinum card holders.

Club Aspire Lounge Terminal 5
[PAID][PRIORITY PASS] – Opened in 2015, this is one of two independent third party lounges at Terminal 5.
It is run as a joint venture between Swissport and Collinson Group (Priority Pass). The narrow and compact 370m² lounge features a modern design with bar and basic buffet, comfortable seating, floor-to-ceiling windows with excellent runway views, business zone and quiet area with rest pods. Showers are available, charged at an extra £20.
It is located near Gate A18 at the south side of T5. Access to Priority Pass holders and Qatar Airways premium passengers. Paying guests can book online (from £28 for 2 hours and £40 for 3 hours). Note, it can get very busy at peak hours!
Open 0500-2100.
British Airways Lounges at Terminal 5
[ONEWORLD] – British Airways operates from Heathrow T5 and has one of the world’s largest airline lounge complexes at the terminal covering an incredible 15,000m² in total and seating up to 2,500 passengers. There are 6 BA lounges at the T5 terminal – 5 departure lounges (open 0500-2200) and a BA arrivals lounge.
British Airways Galleries Club Lounges T5 (3)
There are 3 business class Galleries Club Lounges at Terminal 5. Galleries South Club Lounge T5 (seats 830) and Galleries North Club Lounge T5 (seats 440) are both on the upper level of the main T5A building. There is also a Galleries T5B Club Lounge (seats 370) serving the B Gates at the T5B satellite terminal.
Access to BA Galleries Club lounges is given to Club (business class) or First (first class) passengers, Gold and Silver BA Executive Club members, Iberia and Qatar Airways premium/elite passengers plus equivalent Oneworld alliance elites.
This being BA’s home airport these lounges can get very busy and it can be a challenge to find a seat.
Facilities and furnishings are similar across the Galleries Club lounges. There are bars with a comprehensive drinks menu and champagne is available on request. The food offerings can vary throughout the day from a breakfast spread, a lunchtime hot food buffet to sandwiches in the afternoon.
There are shower facilities at Galleries North and Galleries South.
The South lounge also has a kids zone and a 20 seat cinema. There are restricted views of the apron on one side and views inside the terminal building on the other.
The smaller Galleries Club Lounge North does offer very good views of the north runway (09L-27R).
The Galleries T5B tends to be the quietest lounge of the three.
British Airways Galleries First Lounge T5
This is available for First (first class) travellers and BA Gold members/Oneworld Emeralds at the First Wing located at the southern concourse of T5.
The lounge seats 542 and was refurbished in late 2023. It has a self-service bar, buffet dining area, a premium bar and a wine gallery. There is a dedicated working space and a light and airy terrace area with good views.
British Airways Concorde Room
For First customers and BA Premier/AA ConciergeKey members there is the elegant Concorde Room (seats 156), named after the old supersonic aircraft. BA Gold members who fly 5,000 tier points per year get a special Concorde Room card which gives them access.
With some quirky decor, it has an intimate fine-dining area, Concorde bar, concierge desk, business suite, terrace plus 3 private cabanas – which include a lounging chair, desk, TV and en-suite facilities.
The Concorde Room is located past the First Wing entrance via the First Lounge at the southern concourse of T5. There is also a manned special access door just past South security.
British Airways Arrivals Lounge Terminal 5
The 156 seat British Airways Galleries Arrivals Lounge is available only for arriving long-haul premium passengers (BA Club World/First/BA Gold card holders or American Airlines Business/First/Concierge Key). It is not available for short-haul BA passengers or any guests.
The BA Arrivals Lounge facilities include a hydrotherapy zone with 94 shower rooms and a good a la carte breakfast offering until 1230. Note, the lounge lacks windows and natural light.
It is located on the 1st floor of T5 public area, access via the orange lift or escalator. Open 0500-1400.
Heathrow VIP
[PAID] – Heathrow has opened up its VIP Windsor Suite at the southern end of Terminal 5 to paying passengers. Costing from £2,250 + VAT, it offers groups of up to 12 people a private lounge facility, a dedicated security and passport control area and a limousine transfer to/from the aircraft – regardless of terminal.
A Black Service (from £3,025 + VAT) for up to 3 passengers also includes transfers within a 25 mile radius of the airport.
An extensive food and drinks menu are available in the lounge. Meetings are possible with up to 2 non-flying guests and despite the cost you effectively bypass the main terminal and other travellers. Available to business and first class passengers only – departing/arriving and transfers. Food is available 0530-2230. More info can be found here
Heathrow Terminal 4 Lounges

[PAID][PRIORITY PASS][DRAGONPASS][AMEX PLATINUM] – A stylish independent lounge offering from Plaza Premium group at T4. Located above Gate 1 this 790m² lounge has comfortable seating, food station and fully-tended bar, newspapers/magazines, productivity pods, showers and free WiFi.
Access is available to Priority Pass and DragonPass members, American Express Platinum cardholders or via paid entry (£40 for 2 hours). Also available to premium passengers of Air France-KLM, Korean and ITA Airways.
Note there is a fee to use the showers.

Blush Lounge by Plaza Premium Group
[EL AL][PAID][PRIORITY PASS][DRAGONPASS][AMEX PLATINUM] – This is a stylish 340m² lounge facility near Gate 2 at Terminal 4 which was formerly the EL AL King David Lounge and then the Art & Lounge. In November 2022 it re-opened as the Blush Lounge and is operated by the Plaza Premium Group.
There is seating for up to 105 guests and includes a spacious lobby, a bar with kosher buffet and runway views. It is open to EL AL premium passengers plus American Express Platinum cardholders, Priority Pass and DragonPass members. Paid access is also available from £44.

Etihad Lounge
[ETIHAD] – Etihad re-opened its refurbished lounge in 2022. Previously it had been known as the House and had been managed by No1 Lounges.
The 600m² lounge includes a bar with extensive menu, self-service buffet, a la carte dining area, computer stations, kids zone, a prayer room and showers.
Lounge access is still granted to first and business class Etihad passengers and Etihad Guest Platinum and Gold members. Located near gate 10. Open 0600-2200.
Gulf Air Falcon Lounge
[GULF AIR] – Gulf Air’s 600m² lounge next to gate 6 has stylish, contemporary decor with Arabic influence with a pleasant blue and neutral colour scheme. It contains 120 seats with a bar, buffet and dining area plus a business centre, shower facilities and excellent runway views. Access is for premium and elite Gulf Air passengers. Open 0600-2200.
Qatar Airways Premium Lounge
[QATAR AIRWAYS] – Qatar’s dedicated 750m² lounge is for first and business class revenue passengers only – no guests are permitted. This neat and luxurious refurbished lounge has stylish furnishings, good shower facilities, a bar, deli counter and brasserie serving Arabian and international fare. Opposite gate 6, open 0500-2030. Oneworld elites are directed to the following lounge:
Qatar Airways Frequent Flyer Lounge
[ONEWORLD] – Qatar opened a new lounge in 2022 for non-revenue (points) business/first class ticket holders and for OneWorld Emerald and Sapphire elite frequent flyers flying Oneworld (Qatar/Malaysia Airlines/Royal Air Maroc). OneWorld elites are permitted one guest.
The lounge has a comfortable seating in different zones, a decent buffet offering, business area and shower facilities. On level 2, opposite gate 6 after security. Open 0500-2200.
Heathrow Terminal 3 Lounges
T3 is home to some of the very best lounges at London Heathrow including the American Express Centurion, Cathay Pacific, Qantas and Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse.

No1 Lounge Heathrow
[PAID][PRIORITY PASS][DRAGONPASS] – This is the flagship 970m² facility of No1 Lounges which was acquired by Collinson/Swissport in 2021. The lounge is located upstairs, just follow signs for Lounge F, gates 13-22.
This is a stylish lounge open to paying guests – costs from £36 for a 3 hour stay. Free access is given to Priority Pass and DragonPass members – though holders can be turned away in the event that the lounge is full. It is possible to pay a £6 reservation fee in advance to guarantee entry.
It also accepts premium passengers from Capital Bejing/Delta/Finnair/Middle East Airlines/Vistara/WestJet.
The lounge includes a bistro menu service and bar, games room, business centre, free WiFi, quiet zone, family room and apron views. For extra payment there is an a la carte menu.

Club Aspire Lounge Terminal 3
[PAID][PRIORITY PASS] – Lounge joint-venture from Swissport and Collinson Group which replaced the old Servisair lounge. This stylish lounge seats 120 and features a self-service buffet area, business zone, free WiFi, rest area and showers (extra charge).
Located at Lounge D area, next to gate 9 (follow gates 1-22). Available to paying guests and Priority Pass holders (who can pay £6 supplement to guarantee entry).
Maximum stay is 3 hours, from around £35.

American Express Centurion Lounge T3
[AMEX PLATINUM] – American Express has a 650m² Centurion lounge past security at Heathrow T3 which opened in 2021. It features stylish decor with a range of artworks, a high quality buffet with Middle-Eastern cuisine, a premium bar, work stations and shower facilities. It has a capacity for 110 guests in total.
Access is granted to AMEX Centurion and Platinum cardholders and up to 2 guests (note: US Platinum members are charged for guests). Entrance is also available to Delta Reserve SkyMiles cardholders (no free guests) if flying on Delta the same-day.
The lounge is located on the second floor, head left at ‘Flight Connections’. Open daily 0530-2100.
American Airlines Admirals Club Lounge
[ONEWORLD][PAID] – American Airlines has a relatively large lounge complex at T3 at approximately 1,750m² comprising the Admirals Club lounge and the adjacent International First Class lounge.
The location is at Lounge H area at T3 (gates 13-22), below the Virgin Clubhouse.
The Admirals Lounge seats 230 and contains a cafe bistro area with food and drink from London’s rhubarb restaurant, a circular lounge seating area, business centre, kids zone, 7 shower rooms, TV room and free WiFi.
Admirals Lounge access is for AA premium customers, Admirals Club members, Qantas Club and Oneworld Emerald/Sapphire members. An Admirals Club day pass costs $79. Open 0500-1930.
American Airlines International First Class Lounge
[ONEWORLD] The AA International First Class Lounge seats 134 passengers and was reopened in 2023 following a refurbishment.
The lounge contains a buffet-bar area with a la carte options, champagne station and lounge seating.
The AA First Class Lounge can be accessed business/first class passengers on American Airlines or other OneWorld airlines or Oneworld Emeralds. Open 0500-1930.
British Airways T3 Galleries Club and First Lounges
[ONEWORLD] – BA has lounge complex of 3,000m² at T3 with Galleries Club (seats 300) and Galleries First (seats 250) at Lounge F (follow gates 13-22). Contains the usual standard BA facilities.
Both lounges has various bar and buffet areas, good selection of newspapers/magazines and business stations. The First lounge is quieter and more stylish.
Access rules are as above for the BA T5 lounges. The T3 lounges are used by premium American Airlines, Japan Airlines, Royal Jordanian and SriLankan Airlines passengers plus Oneworld elites. Open 0500-2200.
Cathay Pacific Business Class Lounge
[ONEWORLD] – The Cathay Pacific first and business class lounge complex is 1,200m².
The stylish and spacious Business lounge features the signature Noodle Bar, buffet area (Western and Asian foods), workstations and free WiFi . There are 8 high quality shower rooms shared by both lounges.
Located at Lounge C area, next to gate 11 (follow gates 1-11).
Access for premium Cathay/Oneworld passengers plus Oneworld Emerald and Sapphire members. Open 0530-2100.
Cathay Pacific First Class Lounge
[ONEWORLD] – The Cathay Pacific First Class lounge is on the right-hand side of the lounge reception.
This small separate facility has stylish seating in a light and airy space with excellent runway views. There is a compact buffet and a dining room with a la carte menu options.
The general consensus is that this is the best lounge at London Heathrow T3.
Located at Lounge C area, next to gate 11 (follow gates 1-11).
Access for First class Cathay/Oneworld passengers plus Oneworld Emerald members. Open 0530-2100.
Emirates Lounge
[EMIRATES PAID ECONOMY/PREMIUM] – The Gulf carrier has an expanded 1,025m² lounge for premium passengers which seats 260. Located near Gate 7 of T3. Access for premium passengers as well as Emirates IO, Emirates Skywards Platinum/Gold members and Qantas Frequent Flyer Platinum One/Platinum/Gold travelling on Emirates.
Paid access is possible for Emirates economy passengers. Lounge entrance costs a hefty $125 (Skywards members), $155 (non-members). At current exchange rates that is approximately £100 and £125 respectively.
The lounge includes a large restaurant area, computer workstations, shower facilities and a prayer room. Boarding the aircraft is done straight from the lounge. Open 0530-2230.
Qantas Lounge
[ONEWORLD] – In 2017 Qantas opened a dedicated global lounge at Terminal 3 managed by Accor, which also runs Qantas lounges in Australia and internationally. The split-level lounge has a capacity for 230 passengers (1,223m²) and features 2 bars, dining area (buffet and a la carte Rockpool menu), business section, 6 shower suites, good aircraft views and a children’s zone.
Access is available for Qantas First and Business passengers, Qantas Club, Qantas Platinum One, Platinum and Gold Qantas Frequent Flyers, Oneworld Emerald and Sapphire, Emirates Skywards Platinum and Gold.
Located at Lounge B. Open 0800-2100.
Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse Lounge
[VIRGIN ATLANTIC][DELTA] – Virgin’s flagship lounge at T3 (upper level, Lounge H, gates 13-22) and one of the world’s best business class airline lounges.
This 2,500m² lounge has many different sections with funky seating, pool table/games room, library/work space, free WiFi, viewing deck, bar and dining area. The Clubhouse Spa provides complimentary spa treatments and haircuts.
Access is for Virgin Atlantic Upper Class passengers, Delta One passengers and Clase Premier on Aeroméxico. Access is also available to Flying Club Gold members, Delta SkyMiles Diamond/Platinum Medallion members or Flying Blue Platinum flying Virgin/Delta.

Heathrow Terminal 3 Arrivals Lounges
American Airlines Arrivals Lounge
[ONEWORLD] – American’s arrival facility at T3 features 29 shower rooms, valet pressing service, work area and a breakfast/lunch buffet (with a la carte menu) and champagne bar.
Access is available for AA/BA/Cathay first and business class passengers; plus OneWorld Emerald elite/BA Premier/AA ConciergeKey. At the arrivals exit turn right and head up to level 2. Open 0630-1530.
Virgin Atlantic Revivals Lounge
[VIRGIN ATLANTIC][DELTA] – Virgin’s arrivals lounge is on the upper level after T3 arrivals and features 20 shower rooms, valet cleaning service, a la carte breakfast and free WiFi.
Access is for Virgin Atlantic Upper Class passengers and Delta One passengers. Access is also available to Flying Club Gold members, Delta SkyMiles Diamond/Platinum Medallion members or Virgin Australia Velocity The Club/Platinum cardholders. Open 0530-1230.

Aer Lingus Gold Circle Lounge
[AER LINGUS PAID ECONOMY/PREMIUM] – Located at Lounge A2 of T2A, Aer Lingus has a 130 seat lounge which offers drinks and light snacks, comfortable armchairs, slate wall tiles, work area, free WiFi, good apron views and 1 shower suite.
Lounge access available to US-bound Aer Lingus business class passengers, AerClub Silver, Platinum and Concierge members, customers with Advantage or AerSpace fares (European flights) and Bank of Ireland Mastercard Gold Business Card holders.
It’s possible for Aer Lingus economy passengers to pre-pay for a lounge pass (£30). Open 0700-2200.
Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge
[STAR ALLIANCE] – This 700m² Air Canada facility (Lounge B3 at T2B, opposite the Singapore Airlines lounge near gate B36) has a contemporary design with split levels. It contains a bar and bistro area, quiet zone, work area and 3 shower suites.
Access granted to Star Alliance business class passengers, Air Canada Altitude elite, Star Alliance Gold members and Maple Leaf Club “North America Plus” and “Worldwide” members. Open 0600-2200.
Lufthansa Business Lounge & Senator Lounge
[STAR ALLIANCE][PAID ECONOMY][AMEX PLATINUM] – Large 1,600m² dual lounge for Lufthansa premium passengers and Star Alliance elite members. The Business lounge seats 230; the Senator lounge seats 120 and can be entered using an access pass scanned at the door. The spacious lounge has comfort zones, work areas, bistro with hot and cold food, a drinks bar and apron views. The Senator lounge has slightly better food options.
The Business lounge is accessible to Lufthansa/Star Alliance premium and elite passengers. Economy passengers on Lufthansa group airlines can pay for lounge entrance (from £49).
American Express Platinum cardholders get free entrance to the Business lounge (if flying Lufthansa/Austrian/SWISS economy) or the Senator lounge (if flying Lufthansa/Austrian/SWISS business).
The Senator lounge can be accessed by Lufthansa First and Business class passengers, Miles&More HON Circle/Senators and Star Alliance Gold card holders.
The lounge is located at Lounge A1 at T2A, next door to the Aer Lingus lounge. Open 0500-2200.
Singapore Airlines SilverKris Business & First Lounge
[STAR ALLIANCE] – The elegant SilverKris lounge is located at Lounge B2 at the T2B satellite and has separate business and first class areas. The business class section has capacity for 158 passengers and has a quality Asian/Western buffet-bar area, comfy seating, 3 shower rooms and some floor-to-ceiling windows offering apron views.
The 50 seat first class section has designer furniture, a la carte dining options and private seating.
Access is for premium passengers of Singapore Airlines/Star Alliance plus SIA Krisflyer Elite Gold and Star Alliance Gold members. The lounge is located near gate B36 (albeit a fair walk from security) opposite the Air Canada lounge. Open 0530-2200. Closed for renovation from 8 Feb 2024 to late summer. Eligible passengers are directed to use the United Club Lounge.
United Club Lounge & United Global Services Lounge
[STAR ALLIANCE][PAID] – Flagship joint United Club Lounge (Business class) and United Global Services Lounge with a combined area of around 2,043m². These stylish lounges are light and airy with floor-to-ceiling windows, comfortable seating, 8 shower suites and free WiFi.
The United Club lounge has 25 seat long bar serving unlimited drinks plus a well stocked self-service buffet area.
The Global Services lounge is a more intimate setting with a buffet area, wine room and decorated with a large replica of the Big Ben clock face.
Access to the United Club is granted to the following Star Alliance passengers: business/first class ticket holders, Star Alliance Gold members, United Club members, Air Canada Maple Leaf Club Worldwide members. Also Virgin Australia Velocity Gold, Platinum, and VIP members flying United.
Access to the Global Services lounge is for invitation-only Global Services members. If the Club lounge is busy then some United MileagePlus Premier 1K members may be directed to use this lounge.
It is located at T2B satellite (Lounge B1, opposite gate B46). A one-time pass to a United Club lounge costs $59. Open 0500-2200.
Heathrow Terminal 2 Arrivals Lounges
Arrivals Lounge (United Airlines/Air Canada)
[STAR ALLIANCE] – This is the shared United Airlines/Air Canada arrivals lounge located just after leaving the Terminal 2 baggage reclaim and customs area. Operated by United Airlines, this compact space has comfy seats, work tables, newspaper/magazine selection, a breakfast buffet area with a la carte options and 17 shower suites.
Note, access is only available to United Polaris business and first class passengers, United Global Services members arriving on United, Air Canada business class passengers, Altitude Super Elite 100K members arriving on Air Canada. It is not available to other Star Alliance passengers and elite members. Open 0600-1400.
