May 17, 2024@Adama town Ethiopian Women Lawyers’ Association, in collaboration with the "We Cannot Wait" project, provided training on "Gender Based Violence (GBV) against women in schools and ways to prevent it". The training aims to discuss on GBV related activities implemented and the challenges faced while implementing those activities; and to gather inputs. About 35 students and teachers of Geda Birmeji Primary School in Adama who are members of the mini-media, gender, literature and health clubs, Abageadas Sinqe women, Parents’ committee as well as coalition members of the We Cannot Wait have participated in the training. #EWLA #WeCannotWait #GBV #GBVchallengesandPrevention

May 18-19, 2024@Bahir Dar townEthiopian Women Lawyers' Association (EWLA) in collaboration with Terre des Hommes Netherlands with the She Leads Project conducted a two days training on “Mini- Media Management, Communication and Leadership skills” for 20 Youths from Bahir Dar city. In this two days training, major issues covered includes: the importance, objectives, principles, structures and other aspects of mini- media; concepts, basic principles, elements, types, strategies, barriers of communication; levels of behavior change, the process of message development and stages of behavior change; leadership concepts, skills, strategies, characteristics of a leader, decision making and problem solving skills. In the session, participants got a chance to be involved in group works and presentations. This training enhances participants' skills and capacities to effectively serve in mini- media with their respective schools, communicate effectively, involve in message development and exercise leadership and manage their tasks in a better way. April 27- 29, 2024@Bahir DarEthiopian Women Lawyers’ Association (EWLA) in collaboration with Terre des Hommes Netherlands with the She Leads project conducted a three-days training on "Mini-Media Management, Communications and Leadership skills" for 30 high school youths in Bahir Dar city. The training covers mini-media management, communication, message development, leadership, decision-making and problem-solving skills. The workshop was aimed to identify and analyze the existing legal frameworks and address the legal gaps that require enhancement or amendment on GBV and GEWE. In her welcoming remark, the deputy executive directress of EWLA, Mrs. Betelhem Degu, has introduced the agenda and the aim of the workshop to the participants.
